To Manage and develop the entire fabric of the St. Lucia Public Service including its structures, functions, processes and human resources towards creating an efficient and effective system of public administration thereby satisfying the varied needs of the general Public.

Role of the Ministry
The Ministry of the Public Service can be referred to as the Central co-ordinating Agency of the St. Lucia Public Service with major responsibilities for the management and administration of the Public Service and its human resources, as well as, the management of facilities Government-wide.
 
Functions of the Ministry
 
  1. To constantly review and update organization structures, personnel management practices training processes and operating procedures within the St. Lucia Public Service;
  2. To promote the efficient and effective use of physical, financial and human resources, by the provision of efficient and effective services to both the internal customers (public servants) and the general public;
  3. To create and develop a development-oriented working environment, by the provision of conditions of service conducive to high levels of performance and productivity;
  4. To research, analyze and evaluate existing jobs and work processes, develop results-oriented job descriptions, set work standards and adopt such measures and techniques that would contribute to high staff morale, increased
