About the Unit

The Accounting system used in the Ministry of Labour Relations, Public Service and Co-operatives is mainly electronic and computer driven with software called "SMARTSTREAM FINANCIALS". The Smartstream system allows for electronic processing of all payments to clients through a process of data inputs, scanning of source documents, creation of requisitions, Purchase order vouchers (PO) and creation of invoices. Approvals and verification are done electronically through a layer of security access.rovision of guidance and interpretation of the Finance Act and the Procurement and Stores Regulation.

Goals and Objectives

To develop a mechanism and culture which will make the division more effective and efficient in responding to the needs of the Ministry and General Public.
To develop strategies for the general enhancement of the image and services of the Division.
To continue to search for ways and means of reducing our delivering time for services offered by the Division.

Services Provided

Provision of guidance and interpretation of the Finance Act and the Procurement and Stores Regulation.
Preparation of monthly statement of revenue and expenditure.
Process all payments inclusive of salaries, allowances, bills, rental etc.

Approved Estimates for the respective fiscal year;

Procurement and stores Regulations of 1997.
